DETAILS

Description

Prepare yourself to enjoy one of the most beautiful tours Madrid has to offer, and do it from the comfort of a futuristic and eco-friendly segway.

Reccommended points

After a brief training session, we begin the tour in Plaza Mayor, a landmark of old Madrid and former home of markets, bullfighting and the fearful trials of the Spanish Inquisition. From there we will glide to the Barrio de las Letras (or Letters’ Quarter), place of residence of some of Spain’s literary greats like Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega. After riding down Calle de las Huertas, we will find ourselves face to face with the Prado Museum, the Mecca of Spanish art, and from there we will head to the Retiro Park, but not without first admiring the beautiful Jerónimos Church. Once inside the park, we will see some of its main attractions, such as its spectacular pond, the majestic Crystal Palace or the famous Statue of the Fallen Angel. Besides its monuments, the Retiro is the ideal place to fully enjoy the segway. Once we have left the park, we will still have time to go through some of the city centre’s most symbolic places, such as the Alcalá GatePlaza de Cibeles and Puerta del Sol.

If you decide to extend your tour to two hours, we will have time to see the Atocha Train Station and take a picture by the Caixa Forum and the Hanging Garden, which together form one of the most beautiful corners in the whole city.

So much fun!

We had so much fun on the tour – our guide Abdul gave just enough information to make the tour informative without being boring, and we got to see a lot of the city. Abdul even helped my grandmother ride her segway, so the whole family could participate! No better way to see the city.

Great way to see the city
This was our first time on a segway (2 adults and our 16 year old) so we were all bit apprehensive and nervous but our guide Diego was great, he gave us a demo of how to ride them and then gave us time to practice and to get used to them before we set off. We thought there would be a big group of us but it was only us three so it was like our own personal tour which was great. We did the 2 hour tour which took in all the major sites and we even made it down to the river which is one of the reasons I chose this company. Diego was very knowledgeable and gave us enough time to stop off and take photos. It was a great way to see the centre of Madrid and to get your bearings before you go off on your own. We all agreed that two hours was just right as our legs were starting to ache after that.

The best way to see a city!
Apart from the fact that the technology is just great, this is THE way to get around a city, with a knowledgeable guide (as other reviews have said, Abdul is exceptional; knowledgeable and very personable! Well done Abdul), covering a lot of ground, and therefore sights, with the minimum exertion.
(Make sure you take some water with you, especially in Madrid in July/August).
It is just so much FUN. And these guys are among the best I’ve been with, in several cities.

Abdul was amazing
Literally just finished a hour Segway trip with Abdul and he was a great tour guide. He was friendly and very patient and made the tour very enjoyable for me and my friend. We did tge countryside tour and it was beautiful. I contacted Segway tours via email prior to travelling to Madrid. They were very quick to respond and were helpful with our booking. The location is easy to find and the staff are all round really friendly. I’ll recommend that everyone books a tour with these guys when visiting Madrid

Fabulous 2 hour tour & great fun!
Our guide Bou was brilliant, we had an amazing 2 hour tour, taking in a lot of the main attractions & he had a very good knowledge of all the history & interesting facts. We have travelled quite a bit & try & do a Segway tour on our first day so we get a feel for the city, then we go back & visit the places we want to see in more detail. This tour was just great, very interesting & fun. We decided to go at 5pm to save being out in the heat of the day. I would definitely recommend this tour if you want some fun while finding out about the beautiful city of Madrid!
